Carolina Motorsports Park will be suspending all operations through April 5th. At this time, almost half of the Covid-19 cases in South Carolina are in our county and we do not feel comfortable putting our customers and employees at risk. This was not an easy decision; however, we believe we have a responsibly to do whatever we can to lessen the virus’ impact on Kershaw County and the State of South Carolina.
We appreciate your understanding, and hope to see you all back on track soon.
Turn One Events, known for offering high quality High Performance Driving Education (HPDE) Track Days, introduces two new opportunities for you to “get on the track”.
The Turn One “Taste of the Track” Driving Experience will give you the opportunity to drive your car on Carolina Motorsports Park’s 2.27-mile, 14 turn road course in a lead-follow format. Following a classroom session covering the basics of driving on the circuit you will follow one of our instructors onto the course for 4 laps at above highway speeds. Following a debriefing with your instructor, you will return to the track for another 6 lap session followed by a final debrief. In total, you will receive three classroom sessions and over 20 miles of driving on Carolina Motorsport Park’s professionally designed road course! The Taste of the Track Driving Experience will be available to anyone with a valid driver’s license. Helmets will be provided and sessions will be limited to five participants. Each participant may be accompanied by one passenger who is at least 12 years old.
The Turn One Taste of the Track's Ride-Along Experience will offer the opportunity to ride in the passenger seat of the instructor's vehicle as he leads the Driving Experience participants. Experience the thrill of riding around Carolina Motorsports Park's road course while our instructor explains the finer points of performance driving.

Motorsports Capital LLC announced the signing of an agreement to acquire through commonly owned and affiliated entities the assets of Carolina Motorsports Park, Inc. a 290-acre motorsports complex in Kershaw, South Carolina. Motorsports Capital will begin operating the facility on November 1, 2019.
The acquisition will allow Motorsports Capital to expand its offerings beyond capital raising and advisory services to include facility ownership and management.
Carolina Motorsports Park was built in 1999 by a group of investors led by Joe Hooker and Bob Humphreys. The Alan Wilson designed 2.27-mile, 14 turn road course has proven to be a popular venue for professional and amateur racers alike. In addition to the road course, the facility includes a .7-mile, 16 turn kart track and a skid pad.
Motorsports Capital’s founder Michael J. Cummings stated: “Facility ownership is a natural next step in the growth of our company. Carolina Motorsports Park’s ownership has done a great job building a first-class facility in addition to building a great organization and a loyal customer base. We consider ourselves fortunate to have the opportunity to continue the development of Carolina Motorsports Park”.
Joe Hooker, one of Carolina Motorsports Park’s founders stated: “We developed the facility to have a purpose-built road racing facility in the Carolinas and we are very proud of what Carolina Motorsports Park has become. We decided after 20 years, it was time to let another group take over and lead the facility’s development.” Bob Humphreys from Carolina Motorsports Park added: “It is “bittersweet” to sell something that has been such a big part of our lives for 20 years, but we are excited about what the next 20 years holds for Carolina Motorsports Park under Motorsports Capital’s ownership”.
